2/24/10

Two weeks ago we went to visit friends in DC including baby Mina. Arms full of babys - Mina, Melodie & Miles. That's a lot of m's! It was also the first road trip and over night stay with Melodie. All went well!

Miles holding Melodie's hand as always. I am starting to see more of a resembles between the two...

2/7/10

snow, snow and more snow

We have had a ton of snow this winter. Schools were closed all of last week except for one day and today is closed again. That means Miles' preschool is closed and I am working from home (as much as possible with two little ones at home). We have had many days of staying at home all day long with short visits outside in the snow.

Miles absolutely loves the snow and is as happy as he could be.

Melodie is happy about it too. She smiles all the time these days - even at 4 in the morning.

Miles' favorite thing to do is hold her hand while sucking his thumb. Before Melodie was born, he would do that with me but now only with her. It's sweet, as long as he is gentle.

8.5 weeks

Dressed up in "real clothes" for the first time now that they finally fit. Ready for tomorrow's impending snow.

I was born with it!

On most days, Melodie has a natural mohawk hair style. She was born with that perfect messy bed head look ...today is particularly impressive.

What to do when husband takes son on an outing for three hours on Sunday morning (pool, errands, etc)?
1. feed Melodie
2. play with Melodie
3. take many, many photos of Melodie
4. vaccum (she likes the sound of it!)
5. mop the kitchen floor
6. fold laundry
7. blog
8. make lunch
9. hopefully fit in a nap

So far I have gotten to number 7 (Melodie is sleeping in the swing right now). Not bad for a couple of hours with an infant as co-pilot. Children really force one to become very good at
multitasking.

Here are more pictures of the various friends and family that came to visit us over the holidays.

What could have been a holiday card picture if I ever had the time to actually make one. Next year again.

The first few weeks

A few days old

Time has just flown by. It's already been 6 weeks that Melodie was born. And I am back at work.....Melodie is in good hands though being cared for by her papa for the next 5 weeks. Now we just need her to get used to the bottle, which she is currently refusing! This is very stressful for everyone involved, but this too shall pass....

Back to the beginning. The first week after she was born it was just the four of us- reconnecting, figuring things out, recovering, and caring for each others needs.

In the following weeks, we had many visitors! Between Christmas and a new baby, we have been a popular destination.

To be continued......
